Liverpool have joined the list of potential Premier League suitors for highly-rated Charlton defender Joe Gomez.
The 18-year-old has already been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Everton and Newcastle since breaking into and establishing himself in the Addicks first team last season.
And now Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers has entered the race to sign the England U19 international, although reports elsewhere suggest it could be for an initial £3.5m up front with various add ons which might spark a bidding war, particularly with Arsenal also keen to land Gomez.
One defender potentially on his way to The Valley is 22-year-old German centre half Patrick Bauer, who was linked at the weekend with a switch from Portuguese outfit C.S. Maritimo.
Bauer is certainly on Charlton’s radar but suggestions he could put pen to paper in SE7 in the coming days have been downplayed.
