Bob Peeters literally laughed off rumours that he had been sacked as Charlton’s manager.
The Belgian remains in charge and, it appears, free of serious pressure, ahead of the fixture with Brighton at The Valley.
“It’s social media!” Peeters laughed.
“It comes from Israel, or something. I heard that somebody else already took over! There’s a lot of rumours, what can I say?
“The only thing is we need is to be positive. I know what our targets were before the season – we had agreements with the chairman – it’s not that because you don’t pick up points now everything is bad.
“I think the long-term is more important, but when they put things on social media, you can’t do anything about it, and I’m not going to waste energy on it.
“The most important thing now is to get the boys ready mentally and physically for the game on Saturday.”
