Bob Peeters has backed new striker Tony Watt to be a success at The Valley.
The 21 year old completed his transfer from Standard Liege, for an undisclosed fee, on Tuesday afternoon.
“He’s a guy who can score goals,” Charlton manager Peeters told the club's official website.
“He has a lot of pace, especially round the back of the defence, and although he’s only 21 he has a lot of experience already and has played in the Champions League.
“He didn’t have his best period at Standard, but I think now that he’s back in a country where they speak English, and he feels at ease, he can do the job.
“He needs a little bit of time to settle in, but I hope the fans can back him up and give him the confidence that he will need to be the player that he can be.”
