BOLTON do have a January recall option on Marvin Sordell’s one-year loan at Charlton.

The news was confirmed by Valley boss Chris Powell this morning two weeks after the 22-year-old hooked up with the Addicks from their Championship rivals.

“Yes they do,” he replied when asked at this morning’s Sparrows Lane press conference.

“That is the only drawback but obviously it is something I would do because we are a competitor, so of course if we are ahead of them and he is scoring goals then they’d call him back.

“That’s just what any team and manager would do.

“Unfortunately we couldn’t get that clause out but we will have to deal with that.

“That’s the only real drawback from it but while he is here we want him to compete, play and ultimately score goals because that is what he is about.”

Sordell is yet to get off the mark at his new club but Powell feels it is just a matter of time.

“He just needs a goal,” the Charlton manager said.

“Yann has got his goal, he is up and running.

“Simon Church got a couple of goals, he is up and running.

“Like any striker you want to get your first goal to show people you can score goals and take it from there.

“He is getting used to us, he is getting used to people’s names and of course you are looking for him to get on the goal trail as soon as possible.”
