Cambridge runners out in force

A LARGE contingent of runners representing Cambridge Harriers took part in the London Marathon with five finishing in under three hours and several personal bests achieved.
Rob Jackaman made an incredible debut at the distance, finishing in 2hr46m, while Claire Gibson performed exceptionally well to achieve a marathon personal best of 2hr50m30s to become the 29th woman to cross the line in the elite women's race.
Clem Dixon was the 15th M45 runner and the first athlete home representing Cambridge Harriers in 2hr44m43s.
Matt Winn-Smith ran strongly to finish in a personal best of 2hr49m02s and Sweed Martin Asp also finished in under three hours in 2hr58m20s.
Alex Hall took more than three minutes off his personal best to finish in 3hr07m43s. Kate Aldridge also shaved several minutes off of her pb by achieving a time of 3hr21m15s.
Helen Perera improved amazingly by knocking nearly 30 minutes off her best previous marathon time by coming home in 3hr32m05s.
