DARTFORD Harriers’ boys’ and girls’ teams finished second at the final KYAL meeting at Ashford to secure promotion to division one.

The boys totalled 172 points and the girls 329, with the boys also winning the title and the girls placing as runners up.

Three U15 girls achieved grade one standard in their eventson the day - Immanuela Aliu (200m 26.40s), Holly Page (1,500m 4m45:37s) and Isio Orogun (300m 41.17s – a club record and now ranked third in the country).

In the U13 girls, five Harriers achieved athletic standards.

Katie Woolcott achieved grade three for both the 75m and 150m with times of 10.64s and 21.20s respectively.

Precious Otuyalo and Rebekah Bell both gained grade four, in the 75m for Otuyalo (11.22s) and the 150m for Bell (22.07s).

Eloise Harvey gained a grade four in the high jump with 1.25m, as did Jessica Sellar in the 1,200m (4m11:41s).

With only two Harriers U15 boys competing, points were low.

However, grade one performances by Oliver Hussey (shot 12.45m) and Harley Parsons (javelin 48.47m) ensured Dartford did not fall too far behind.

Hussey also achieved a grade two in the javelin (42.73m) and won the hammer with 25.18m.

Dartford’s U13 boys had seven athletes competing, with four achieving graded standards.

Ben Sutton gained a grade one in the 200m (26.24s) and grade two in the 100m (13.14s). Mineh Orogun achieved a grade four in the 200m (28.04s) and Samuel Olubodun a grade four in long jump (4.18m).

James Hussey achieved a grade four in the shot put with a throw of 7.57m.

Elsewhere, Dartford Harriers retained their overall lead in the fourth match of the southern women’s league.

They scored 272 points to add to their total of 1214.5 going into the final match and are now assured promotion to division two next year.

Leanne O’Donovan won the javelin with a throw of 31.89m, Claire Capon triumphed in both the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles and Ella Walden won the long jump with a leap of 4.57m.

Dartford’s 4x100 relay team of Leanne O’Donovan, Jodie Lesley, Kim Taylor and Hannah Sutton came second with a time of 54.3s.
