CRYSTAL Palace have rejected Bolton’s initial approach to discuss the vacant managerial position at the Reebok with Dougie Freedman.
The Championship strugglers are desperate to appoint Freedman as Owen Coyle’s successor following his dismissal earlier this month after the Trotters’ 2-1 defeat at Millwall.
It is believed a three-year deal with an annual salary of £500,000 is on offer for Freedman should he accept Bolton’s overtures but the Lancashire side have been denied the opportunity to make their case by the Eagles.
A statement released on the Crystal Palace website this lunchtime said: “Crystal Palace FC can confirm that they have received a request from Bolton Wanderers to speak to Dougie Freedman regarding their vacant manager’s position.
“Permission has not been granted for Dougie to speak to Bolton.”
