Boxing comes to Bluewater

BLUEWATER is set to host a televised night of top class boxing on Saturday.

Current European super middleweight champion and 2008 Olympic gold medallist James DeGale MBE will be defending his title at the 2700-seater Glow venue.

Chris Eubank Jr, the son of former world champion Chris Eubank, will be hoping to continue his impressive unbeaten run as a professional at the north Kent shopping centre.

There will also be eight other bouts, including an EU light welterweight title fight.

The high profile event will also be broadcast live on Channel Five.

Hennessy Sports’ Mick Hennessy said: “I’m very excited to be bringing professional boxing to Glow for the first time.

“It is a fantastic venue, perfect for sports events like boxing.”
