Tennis contest proves popular at club
1:43pm Tuesday 9th October 2012 in Sport
The summer tournament finalists
FARNBOROUGH Tennis Club recently held its regular autumn mixed tournament.
Sixteen members took part and in a contest ran on a sliding handicap basis to ensure every player, whatever their standard, was in with a chance of winning.
Chairman Nigel Holmes used computer-generated pairings to ensure as many different partners and opponents as possible.
All of the matches were close, as were the final results at the end of five rounds.
The eventual winners were Kuniko Sato and Brian Keegan who were presented with bottles of wine by Holmes.
Holmes also presented the trophies to the winners and finalists of all the summer tournament events.
Club coach Paul Taylor provides a comprehensive coaching programme for juniors and adults.
