WEST Wickham’s Sean Thornley teamed up with David Rice to win the prestigious $75,000 tennis challenger doubles event in Izmir, Turkey.
Having saved a match point, the unseeded duo overcame fellow Brits Josh Goodall and Lewis Burton in the first round.
In the second round they beat an Indian Davis Cup pairing which included an Olympian 6-0 3-6 10-8 before again winning 10-8 in the final set of their semi-final against a pairing from Holland and Ireland.
Waiting in the final were Australian pair Brendan Klein and Dane Propoggia but the Brits came out on top 7-6 6-2 to secure their 10th ATP tournament final win.
The result is their best to date and sees Thornley move up to 160th in the world ATP rankings.
