KENNY Jackett admits he would ideally like to loan out Tamika Mkandawire to a League One club.
The Millwall boss revealed after Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat against Cardiff the midfielder would be allowed to leave the Den on a temporary basis to continue his recovery from the injury which has kept him on the sidelines since last November.
And Jackett accepted a League One club was the best place for this to happen when asked by News Shopper this morning.
“I would think so but we will see in the end who is interested and what sort of approaches we get,” the Den chief said.
“There has been no development on that yet.
“We will circulate his name and make people aware we are looking to get him to play some games after his injury.
“We feel he is capable, his knee has been OK but it is obviously up to other people whether they need a loan player.”
Jackett also denied Millwall would demand the player starts every game during his loan as a condition of any potential deal.
“Obviously we want him to play,” he said.
“I wouldn’t say we would insist on it but the reason for him going out on loan is to get games to be able to come back to Millwall and do well.”
