Sidcup pull clear late on to wrap up derby win

OLD Colfeians suffered their third successive defeat as they went down 39-18 at Sidcup in a London Division One derby.

Playing with the slope and the wind in the favour, OCs led 15-10 at half-time thanks mainly to the power of their forwards and the fine kicking of stand-off James Poole.

The second half was a different matter, with the Sidcup backs dominant.

With three minutes to go, Sidcup led 25-18 and OCs were still in with a chance and at least a bonus point.

However, following a long break when the OCs scrum half Terry Allen, suffered a severe injury, Sidcup ran in two further interception tries under the posts and emerged clear winners.

All of Colfeians’ points came from the boot of James Poole, with five penalties and a drop goal.
