Career best: Gold at the 2011 European Cup in Malaga.

Career high: Finishing seventh in the 2010 European championships.

Sporting background: Kelly was originally a gymnast before taking up judo as a youngster. She gained her first Dan at the age of 16 and has enjoyed success in international events.

She says: It’s going to be a very special Olympics for everybody on Team GB and to be in the squad is an amazing feeling.

We say: Goes into the Games full of confidence and in the bottom weight category for women’s judo.

Kelly will be in action on July 28, the first sporting day of the competition.

Can she provide GB with an early medal? You just never know.
