Sporting background: Only took up running at the age of 20 after spotting an athletics track while walking in a Lewisham park, the Kent AC member has enjoyed plenty of success since taking up the sport.
As well as the 2009 silver secured as part of the GB team at that year’s world championships, he also has silvers as part of the 4x400m relay team from the 2012 world indoor championships and the 2010 and 2012 European championships.
He says: It’s a surreal feeling, because you train for four years and suddenly it pays off. It feels like you’re living the dream because only now can you say you are an Olympian.
We say: The British 4x400m relay team, which Williams has been a key in over the last couple of years, has a proven history of medal success at various competitions.
There is a very good chance Williams will help them add the Olympics to that impressive list.
