SOME of the best darts players in the world are set to take The Valley by storm with just three weeks to go until the inaugural Charlton Masters takes place at The Valley.
Premier League runner-up Simon Whitlock will be joined by seven-time major title winner James Wade, Sky Sports’ Rod Harrington and three world champions on July 19, with Raymond van Barneveld, Mark Webster and special guest Andy Fordham completing the star-studded line-up.
The main event will see world number three Wade, of England, compete against Holland’s van Barneveld, Australia’s Whitlock and Wales’ Webster on a special night of top quality sporting entertainment.
Wade, who is nicknamed ‘The Machine’, insisted national pride will be on the line when the four PDC stars lock horns.
He said: “Of course the night will be fun and played in a different spirit to a major televised tournament but deep down, we will all want to win.
“All of the pros are from different countries. So that adds that extra spice to the event.
“We are all looking forward to a brilliant evening with a line-up that looks like the later stages of a top tournament.”
Local men Martin Forlan, Steve Stutley, Trevor Pinder and Danny Hassett will get their chance to take on the professionals after winning through at a qualifying event.
The last few tickets for this unique event are available at dartshop.tv or by calling 08450 180 180.
