Millwall 2-1 Leicester City

Kane smashed home from close range in the first-half, while Keogh sent a cheeky penalty beyond Kasper Schmeichel in the second period.

And despite Danny Drinkwater's goal eight minutes from time, the Lions held on to confirm Championship football again next season.

Leicester carved out the first real opportunity of the match when left-back Paul Konchesky delivered from the byline, but David Nugent couldn't direct his header towards goal with strike partner Jermaine Beckford also lurking.

The visitors were asking all the questions in the opening stages, and in the 10th-minute, a marauding run from Ben Marshall saw the winger deliver a testing ball across the six-yard box, but Tony Craig was on hand to clear the ball out at the back post.

However, the Lions fought back moments later when a free-kick from Josh Wright found Harry Kane at the back post in front of the Cold Blow Lane stand, but his effort came off the outside of the woodwork.

Kenny Jackett's men took the lead midway through the first-half when a free-kick towards the back post was nodded back into the danger area, and after waiting for the ball to sit up nicely, Kane lashed a powerful shot past Kasper Schmeichel.

And Millwall had goalkeeper Maik Taylor to thank shortly afterwards when he saved brilliantly from David Nugent inside the danger area following a Foxes attack.

The Lions managed to clear their lines quickly, which saw Wright play a fantastic pass down the right for Kane to chase.

The Tottenham Hotspur loanee took a heavy first touch, and with Andy Keogh free on the far side, City defender Sol Bamba managed to get back in time to clear for a corner.

In a frantic two-minute spell leading up the half-hour mark, City went back up the other end and Beckford tried to curl an effort beyond Taylor from outside the box, but his effort sailed inches wide.

Millwall had the first chance of the second period when a flighted free-kick found Keogh inside the box, but the forward's header sailed over.

However, the Foxes could have grabbed an equaliser through former Charlton and West Ham man Konchesky, but his free-kick 20-yards out curled over the wall - and the crossbar.

But just minutes later, the in-form Kane had a say in Millwall's next attack, which would result in a penalty for the Lions.

Strike partner Keogh spotted the run of the youngster bursting into the box and he was clipped by City's Bamba.

And Keogh stepped up to send a delicate chip into the top left-hand corner after Schmeichel dived the opposite way.

Lee Peltier should have done better with a header from close range following a free-kick, and was later booked for a late challenge on Scott Barron.

The visitors replaced Paul Gallagher with the pacy Lloyd Dyer just after the hour-mark, but they couldn't force a way through a stubborn home defence.

Wright nearly extended the lead when he sent a thunderous volley from a full 30-yards towards goal, but saw his effort crash off the top of the woodwork.

But the visitors gave themselves a lifeline after 82 minutes when substitute Danny Drinkwater reduced the deficit with a well-taken strike.

A fast break down the right saw Nugent square the ball across the edge of the 18-yard area to the former Manchester United youngster, and the midfielder side-footed into the bottom corner past Taylor.

Leicester piled on the pressure in the closing stages, but it was deservedly Millwall's day as they comfortably held on to claim all three points.

There will be Championship football yet again at The Den next season, and following news of Charlton's promotion from League One, there will be an added spice heading for South London's elite.
