Millwall boss Kenny Jackett admitted he was concerned about the Lions' home form after they suffered another home defeat on Saturday.

His side were beaten by promotion chasers Reading to leave them without a league win at The Den since Boxing Day.

And the manager believes his side will need to put an end to the run or fall into relegation danger.

He said: "We have tried everything to try and turn this home form around but we are just in a bad run here at the moment.

"We have given poor goals away this season and our defensive record hasn't always been up to scratch, but we have to turn the home form around and do it quickly.

"I don't think it's anything to do with the crowd because they've been excellent and with us.

"Even against Reading we were in the game so I wouldn't be able to put my finger on it."

Millwall have just five matches remaining at The Den and still have promotion chasers Southampton, Leeds United, Blackpool and Hull City to visit them, but Jackett is not overawed by the daunting task facing his side.

"It doesn't get easier but whether that's a good thing or a bad thing you don't know," said the boss.

"Sometimes you can raise yourself to a form side.

"Even against Reading I didn't think we were outclassed and they didn't create many chances.

"You have to look at yourself sometimes and eradicate the poor goals against you.

"We haven't done too many things wrong, we've just had too many days like Saturday, which have slipped through our fingers."

But, on the other hand, he is pleased at the impact striker Andy Keogh has made since his January loan switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Lions boss said: "He has made a bright start to his Millwall career and generally given us a bit of know how in the division and we have needed that up front."

Jackett's side now face a make-or-break week with trips to fellow strugglers Peterborough United on Tuesday and Nottingham Forest on Saturday coming up.

And he is hoping welcome back Liam Trotter, Jack Smith and top-scorer Darius Henderson for the trip to Peterborough.

He said: "It is a massive week for us. Trotter, Smith and Henderson have all got a chance of playing and if not, they'll be in contention for Saturday.

"We are down to the business end of the season now with 12 games left and 36 points to play for."
