LIONS boss Kenny Jackett was disappointed his Millwall side failed see the game through after conceding a late equaliser against Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday evening.

Kazenga Lua Lua crashed home a powerful free-kick through David Forde to deny the Lions an important three points with two minutes of normal time remaining, but the manager took heart from an encouraging display.

"We had the lead quite late and were were ahead twice as well in the game, so there's frustration we didn't see it through," said Jackett.

"It's mixed feelings at the end of the game, we played very well and I thought we did well defensively and on the ball.

"We caused Brighton lots of problems, so if we can continue with that performance, and we were pretty solid against Derby County on Saturday as well.

"Going back to the West Ham game, we were unlucky as well, so three or four performances since the bad one against Watford and some consistency, has picked up.

"Generally, performances look after results, and we if we can play like that in and out possession, we'll be in competitive in every game - we must adhere to those standards."

Millwall host Bolton Wanderers in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday at The Den and the boss believes his side will go into the match with confidence.

He said: "We've got a good spirited bunch, we don't pack up, we keep going, and we try and play football.

"Undoubtedly we look forward to the Bolton game on Saturday at home in the FA Cup - it's a great one for us to go and attack as a group."

Andy Keogh scored his first goal for the club with the opening goal in the first-half with a header into the bottom corner, and Jackett was delighted with his loan frontman.

The forward could have extended the Lions lead in the second period but missed the target from close range, before Albion went up the other end to equalise.

"Andy played really well I thought and he scored his first goal for the club," beamed the gaffer. "I was pleased with his contribution and I thought he brought a lot to us, I really did.

"It looked like a key moment because he missed that chance and then they've gone down the other end, and a deflected shot fell to Sam Vokes who slotted it in.

"We still caused them problems and got out noses ahead so there were a lot of positives, but at the end there's some frustration we haven't held out with only a few minutes to seeing it through."

With Coventry City claiming a big victory over Leeds United on Tuesday evening, it's beginning to get a bit tight at the bottom of the Championship, but Jackett insists his team will continue to showing fighting spirit.

"We're very close (at the bottom of the league) to other clubs and it's frustrating to say that because you need to get over the line," he said.

"We have been competitive all season and we're a spirited bunch, and at times we showed a lot of quality as well."
