CHARLTON manager Chris Powell will not look to rotate his squad, despite facing three tough games in a week.

The Addicks are currently sitting on top of League One and face Chesterfield at the Valley this Saturday.

They will then have two successive away games against title rivals MK Dons and Sheffield United in the space of five days.

Despite what looks to be an arduous week for his players, Powell wants his team to stay fit and they will be unchanged if he can help it.

He said: “I’ve kept the team more or less the same other than one or two changes and I like that.

“A settled team is good because you get to know one another’s skills and qualities and it has worked very well for us.

“Obviously with the quick turnaround we’re going to have to look at the squad on Sunday and see who is carrying knocks.”

Next week’s fixtures will certainly test the metal of Charlton and their title credentials but the boss believes if his team give it their all, it will show in the results.

“The minimum I expect from the players is to give everything on the pitch like they have done all season, especially in the away games,” he said.

“Three games in seven days, with two hard away games, is a tough week but we have to compete.

“I think it will show exactly where we are after next week.

“We will have more of an idea after that.”

Bradley Wright-Phillips has been in great form with five goals in the league already but a number of midfielders have been firing them in as well, much to the delight of the manager.

Powell said: “People will always look at the strikers because they get the goals and rightly so, it’s their job.

“But we don’t have to rely on our strikers.

“We’ve had Danny Hollands, Dale Stephens, Johnnie Jackson and Scott Wagstaff all popping up with goals and that’s great.”
