TONY Burman has saluted the impact made by his substitutes in Monday’s 3-1 win over Bromley.

Darts took an early lead through Elliot Bradbrook’s stunning strike before going on to miss a host of chances against the Lillywhites.

They paid the price when Danny Waldren equalised on 63 minutes, a goal which prompted Burman to freshen things up by bringing on Danny Harris and then Lee Noble.

Dartford were awarded a penalty two minutes after the introduction of Noble, which Charlie Sheringham converted to restore the home side’s advantage.

And it was left to Harris to complete the scoring, prompting Burman to stress the importance of having strong back up options to change the outcome of games this season.

The manager said: “It is a fantastic place to be with them there, I’ve guys on my bench at the moment who are itching to get into the team.

“They’ve done brilliantly for this club but find themselves on the bench because they know that the team are doing well.

“Their chance will come, it has come and they’ve turned the game around.

“It gives me a great option from the bench and I’m delighted for them.”

Burman added: “Bromley did well, I thought they had a decent side out and had a great result on Saturday against Sutton.

“I felt if we could play the ball around like we did in the first half we would be OK against them.

“We got one goal but I felt we should have had one or two more.

“It wasn’t to be and if you don’t put them in the back of the net then you leave yourself open to a counter attack and a goal at the other end, which is what happened.

“Fair play to Bromley because they came at us in the second half, but we’ve come back again after it has gone 1-1.

“We got a penalty, and I think it was one in all honesty, and then we’ve taken charge of the game again.

“Our play was good and I thought we thoroughly deserved to get the three points.”

Victory maintained Dartford’s unbeaten start to the season and came on the back of Saturday’s hard-fought 0-0 draw at Chelmsford.

Burman said: “I am pleased because Chelmsford is a difficult place to go and I’m sure they will be there or there abouts come the end of the season.

“Lots of teams will not got anything there.

“Bromley had a great result going into the game with us and were fourth before it started and we’ve beaten them, so all in all I’m pleased with the performances and the hard work all of the players have put in.”
