PETER Taylor spoke after Tuesday's defeat and his clear disappointment was evident when speaking about the manner of the loss and the habit of conceding early in the match once again.

He said: "For the second game on the spin we started both halves slowly so we are not giving ourselves a chance, a concern is we don't look like we are going to keep a clean sheet which is worrying.

"After suffering the disappointment of conceding the early goal, our performance thereafter just wasn't good enough and we must all hold our hands up and admit it.

"I felt certain people got too nervous in the game and I can assure you the players out there are much better than what they showed over the 90 minutes."

The frustration of the evening was heard from the crowd as the game went on and Peter believes as the match unfolded there was a confidence issue for the lads.

He said: "It appeared players began lacking confidence in getting the ball and also in their passing which wasn't good enough.

"You can get confidence and you can lose it and the plain fact is we need to get a result which will get the confidence back again.

"It's the same group of players who started the season well but now we look like we are going to concede so we have all got to work very hard as a team."

Peter made changes to his starting 11 and explained he felt the defeat at Luton showed certain players needed a rest.

He said: "Nobody was injured, I just felt both Danny Granville and Danny Butterfield were tired so I decided to play two fresh fullbacks.

"Darren Ward came very close to also getting a start as well but he was ill with a bug which has meant he has missed two days of training."
