JULIAN Speroni is expected to be available for Crystal Palace’s game at Turf Moor, despite picking up an injury in Saturday’s 3-3 draw against Reading.

The keeper struggled towards the end of the game with a groin injury which prevented the Argentine from taking goal-kicks, but manager Dougie Freedman is confident his regular number one will be fit for Saturday’s game.

“It’s nothing serious,” the Palace boss confirmed.

“He was struggling and is going to be taking it easy this week but I’m pretty sure he’s going to be fine, it’s just precautionary.”

The three-time player-of-the-year winner’s deputy, Lewis Price, is yet to make his debut for the club since arriving in the summer but Freedman would have no concerns about playing the former Ipswich man if required.

He said “Lewis trains very hard and he keeps on putting in good performances for the reserves, so I’ve got no problem with putting him in if Julian was to miss a game and he knows that.”

The prognosis is less positive for midfielder Alex Marrow who is again a doubt for the Eagles’ trip to Lancashire with the ankle injury that has kept him out for four games.

Freedman added: “He’s still struggling a little bit.

“Alex was up and running yesterday, so hopefully he’ll be joining in training by the end of the week.”

Burnley are among the play-off contenders and have a good home record of late but the Palace boss insists his side have every chance of taking all three points from the game.

He said: “I’ll approach the game in a certain way that I think we can win the game.

“I won’t be letting anyone know that before the game, of course, but the players will be instructed what to do.

“They’ve been doing well, they’ve taken on board what we’re after and they’ve taken on one or two different things and we will try and beat Burnley.

“I feel that every game is winnable in this division and so that is what we’ll set out to do.”
