YADO Mambo’s loan to Staines Town was prompted by the defender’s disillusionment at not being able to force his way into the first team, according to manager Phil Parkinson.

Mambo has remained a periphery figure at The Valley this season, prompting this week’s temporary departure to Conference South outfit Staines Town.

It isn’t the first time the 19-year-old has been lent to a non-league club and this will be his second spell with Staines.

Parkinson explained: “It is similar to Carl Jenkinson really in that Yado hasn’t played and he needs to get up to speed with some games.

“Ideally we wanted him to go to the Conference but the Conference deadline is the same as ours, so the best level he could go to was Staines.

“He went there before and did really well for them.

“I just thought that Yado over this period of time getting a run of games would get him back up to speed because he is a good player.”

The manager added: “He came back for pre-season and did exceptionally well but it hasn’t quite fallen into place for him since then and he has become a little bit disillusioned.

“I like everybody within the club to have a focus in their work throughout the week and probably Yado at the moment is the one I need to get out and play games.

“Ben Davisson is playing, Carl has been out and played, Lewis Perkins is playing and Tamer Tuna is probably another one we are looking to get out again on loan.

“But everybody else is in contention for the first team as we focus over this Christmas period and I wanted to give Yado that same focus, albeit with a different team.”
