GRAVESEND Hockey Club had a poor start against Bexleyheath & Belvedere HC and soon found themselves 2–0 down.
But they battled their way back into the game and after a good team effort, Kerry Jewiss was able to halve the deficit.
BBHC quickly restored the two-goal cushion before Sadie Mitchell struck a penalty corner into the goal to put Gravesend right back in it.
In an exciting first half, there were two more goals, firstly from BBHC and then from Jewiss, making the half-time score 4–3 in BBHC’s favour.
The second half continued to be end-to-end with Gravesend hitting the post on two occasions.
However, it was BBHC who managed to score with 10 minutes left and as Gravesend pushed forward to try to get back into the game BBHC were able to clinch another goal and complete the scoring.
