A MOTORBIKE enthusiast from West Wickham made an impressive start on his new vintage bike at Caldwell Park.
David Aungier, 66, has been racing for more than 40 years but couldn’t resist when Andrew Thompson asked him to ride his 500cc Vincent vintage at Caldwell Park on Sunday.
Because of eligibility issues, they had to run the bike in the classic class, which is made up of 750cc kneelers and mini wheels.
Aungier was accompanied by passenger Dan Williams at Caldwell Park and had two rides, finishing second and first with a fastest lap time of 1m25.27s.
The duo’s next scheduled date on the Vincent is at Lydden’s British Historic Racing (BHR) meeting on July 31 and August 1.
