CHARLTON manager Phil Parkinson is quietly confident QPR will agree to extend Gary Borrowdale’s loan stay at The Valley.

The left-back played the final game of his initial 28-day deal tonight in the 1-0 victory over Colchester, a result which virtually guarantees the Addicks a place in the play-offs.

QPR’s 2-0 triumph at Crystal Palace on Saturday means the Hoops no longer have any drop fears and Parkinson is now hoping Neil Warnock will look favourably on letting Borrowdale stick around SE7 for a little while longer.

Parky said: “We will find out tomorrow from Queens Park Rangers and I’m hoping the fact they’ve beaten Crystal Palace at the weekend and almost secured their safety in the Championship means Neil will let us keep him.

“I thought Gary played well today, he is a good player.

“When he came in to us he was short on match practice and probably wasn’t as sharp as he would have liked.

“But he knows the position, he is a good size, has a great left foot and his set piece deliveries have been very good for us.”
