PHIL Parkinson says no decision on Gary Borrowdale’s Charlton future will be taken until after next Tuesday’s home game with Colchester.

The left back is currently on a 28-day loan from QPR but the Valley date with Aidy Boothroyd’s side will be the final game under the terms of the deal and he could be set for a return to Loftus Road.

Parkinson hinted a stay in SE7 could well be on the cards but added it was dependent on QPR’s own bid to beat the drop from the Championship.

The Addicks boss said: “Gary Borrowdale can play Saturday and Tuesday and then his loan is up.

“We will just have to see what QPR say after that.

“I’ve spoken to Keith Curle a couple of times about it.

“They want to see how Saturday and Tuesday goes in terms of their results as well and then they will let us know.”

One possible solution should Borrowdale depart is to play West Ham loanee Matt Fry, a player who has yet to feature since his recent arrival from Upton Park.

Parkinson added: “We have a problem because we can only have five loan players in the final 16 but Matt is training every day and is ready when he is needed. “Obviously we needed somebody else who could play at left back.

“Matt is a player who has played at this level before when he played left-side centre back or left back and that is why we brought him to the club.”

On loan Brighton striker Nicky Forster has spoken of his desire to stay with Charlton in the summer, although Parkinson was reluctant to speculate when asked about the possibility of a full-term deal today.

“We will just see how it goes,” the Valley chief said.

“Nick has done well since he came here and I think he is enjoying his time so far but it is too early to say.”
