Chapman wins classic in Hither Green

GREEN indoor mini-golf course in Hither Green hosted the spring classic tournament on Saturday.

The competition was played over two rounds and saw 17 players take part.

Marc Chapman won with scores of 37 (+1) and 32 (-4) for a total of 69 (-3).

His round of 32 was also a new course record and earned him a bottle of champagne from course owner Nick Sandqvist as the first player to shoot a sub-36 (par) score since the course opened in January.

Richard Gottfried second with a 36-hole total of 87 (+15) ahead of Greenhithe’s Sean Homer in third place with a score of 88 (+16).

The spring classic event took place on a new Swedish felt mini-golf course, a very challenging format of miniature golf, and the only full size example of its kind in the UK.
