CHISLEHURST-based Croydon Lacrosse Club went into their match against Walcountain Blues expecting a tough game after losing their previous encounter to the same opponents only two weeks ago courtesy of a last-gasp goal.
Croydon went 1-0 up early on just as they did two weeks ago, catching Blues on the back foot.
However, Blues came back with a strong finish to the first quarter to lead 3-1. Croydon then began to take control of the game, sorting out their defence and holding onto possession more effectively.
However, Croydon still went into half-time 4-3 down.
The third and fourth quarters showed Croydon in the ascendancy and finally breaking down the goalkeeper with six goals in the fourth quarter, winning numerous face-offs and pin-point shooting accuracy.
Blues managed a couple of consolation goals, but it was too little, too late.
Croydon the much deserved victors, avenging their defeat of two weeks ago 12-7.
