A TRIO of three-strong teams from Hurstmere Foundation School in Sidcup took part in the regional finals of the British schools karting championship at Buckmore Park on Saturday.
The teams had qualified by winning their heats during January and February and were ready to take on other schools from across London and the south east.
Hurstmere’s A team of Nick Evans, Tom Langford and Thomas Grainger won the regional championships, while the B squad came 10th and the F team placed 18th in a field made up of 22.
Meanwhile, the boys’ teacher Mr Davies also had something to celebrate after he won the teachers race.
The A team will now race in the national finals in Milton Keynes on March 27.
