Week 12 of the winter season in the South London & Kent Pool Alliance saw the Premier Division title race blown wide open with five teams in contention.

In pole position are the Pickwick with a thirteen point advantage after Paul Gafa 3/3 inspired their comeback to win by 8-7 in frames against Bellegrove Social Club.

Hotshots lost ground in second place after this 11-4 in frames defeat to a rejuvenated New Eltham Social Club for whom Miro Cujic 3/3 was outstanding and Sean O’Connor and Mattie Flockhart were unbeaten.

O’Connors B are level on points with the Hotshots and We Anchor In Hope following their deciding frame win over the We Anchor In Hope by 8-7 in frames after We Anchor fought back from 5-0 down.

In the First Division the Coach & Horses, who have a game in hand, lead by eleven points courtesy of this 10-5 in frames win over the Running Horses with Ed Travers 3/3 and Luke Pritchard 3/3 in outstanding form.

The Blue Anchor in second place following their 8-7 in frames defeat to the Summerfield who join them on 95 points.

The Anglesea Arms recorded another fine win by10-5 in frames against the White Hart and have climbed to fourth spot six points adrift of the Summerfield.

Gallies edged the remaining fixture in this division by 8-7 in frames over Riley’s Ramblers despite stiff resistance from Mike Foster 2/2 and Wayne Denton 2/2 for the Ramblers.

In the Reserve league the New Eltham Social Club, for whom Steve Unwin produced an impressive total clearance to seven ball his opponent, reduced the Woodman’s lead to five points despite being beaten 7-5 in frames by the Pickwick Academicals.

The Four Lymes were awarded a 9-0 walk over due to the no show of the Crown and are now only one point behind New Eltham.
