Addicks quintet walk tightrope at Seagulls


NO fewer than five Addicks are one booking away from a one-game ban prior to tonight’s match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Izale McLeod, Jose Semedo, Miguel Llera, Christian Dailly and Kelly Youga will all be walking the proverbial tightrope when Charlton take on the Seagulls in a league match for the first time since the 1991/92 season. Sam Sodje is available for the match at the Withdean Stadium after serving a one-match suspension following his red card against Yeovil Town.

A COMMUNITY project that supports playing opportunities for youngsters with Down’s syndrome last week won almost £40,000 as part of the People’s Millions scheme.

DEPUTY chief executive Nigel Capelin will leave Charlton this month after 12 years with the club, the Addicks announced last week.

Plc chairman Richard Murray said: “Nigel has been a great servant to Charlton and has played an integral role in the development of the football club over the last decade.”

ALEX Stavrinou made his debut on loan for Ebbsfleet United in the Blue Square Premier on Saturday as the Kent side beat Mansfield Town 2-1.

Dean Sinclair, who played his first match since a long-term knee injury last Thursday in a behind-closed-doors 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient, also went out on a month’s loan the same day, re-joining former club Barnet.

However, he was an unused substitute over the weekend.

Seats are priced £17, £22 and £25 adults, £17 over 60s and U21s, and £5 U18s.

However, only current season-ticket holders and Red Card holders with a purchase history of more than one Championship game from 2007-09, including lapsed season-ticket holders, can purchase seats for the Millwall home game on December 19 (3pm).

JORDAN Cousins captained England U16s to Victory Shield success on Thursday night in a 2-1 win against Scotland.

The 15-year-old Greenwich-born defender lifted the trophy for the second season in a row after also being part of the U16 squad last term.

CHARLTON chaplain Matt Baker is putting over a decade of experience working in sport to good use after being appointed to a new national role.

As the pastoral support director in English football at national sports chaplaincy charity SCORE, he will seek to develop the role and the range of chaplains within football.

THE Charlton women’s team suffered its third postponed in four weeks on Sunday when a waterlogged pitch forced the cancellation of the Addicks’ match against Keynsham Town.
