GRAVESEND Rowing Club’s Dean Pettipher and Matthew Johnson enjoyed a successful day when the duo took part in the recent Docklands Head race.
Johnson won in a novice coxed four with members of Medway Town’s Rowing Club in a time of 12m30s. Pettipher won his intermediate three race in a single scull in 13m24s.
The Gravesend pair combined to come second in the double sculling race in 12m08s, six seconds behind the winners.
Both are hoping to build on their recent success and are now attending winter training sessions at Gravesend Rowing Club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm onwards.
