PHIL Parkinson put pen to paper on an extension to his contract last Friday, the day before the match against Carlisle United.

The Valley boss agreed a new one-year deal that takes his contract to summer 2011.

CHARLTON responded to injuries to Frazer Richardson and Chris Solly by last week signing England youth international Elliot Omozusi on loan from Fulham until early December.

Richardson missed Saturday’s match at Carlisle with a groin injury suffered against Gillingham the previous weekend, while Solly has had a knee operation and will be sidelined for three months.

Goalkeeper Rob Elliot, meanwhile, has torn an adductor muscle and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Carl Ikeme made his Addicks debut on loan against Carlisle United last weekend.

TWO goals by Tamer Tuna and a Lewis Perkins strike saw Charlton’s U18s defeat Portsmouth 3-2 on Saturday to prepare perfectly for tonight’s FA Youth Cup tie at The Valley against Gillingham.

The U18s travel to Arsenal on Saturday.

CHARLTON play in the first round of the FA Cup for the first time in almost 30 years on Sunday, when the Addicks face non-League Northwich Victoria.

The match is live on ITV (1.30pm) and tickets are on general sale and will be available from the Victoria Stadium prior to kick-off.
