Millwall star Jimmy Abdou popped in to the Lions Centre to meet some youngsters and try his hand at a new sport during the summer holidays.

The Millwall Community Scheme has once again proved a massive hit with kids during the school break, providing a wide range of activities at their multi-sports camps including soccer schools, netball, cricket, basketball and rugby.

Midfield maestro Abdou watched the youngsters take to the basketball court before gaining the confidence to have a go and shoot some hoops himself - although maybe he is better trying to hit the back of the net at football.

Abdou was happy to answer questions on how he started playing football, last year’s brilliant win over Leeds and the disappointment of going off injured at Wembley in the play-off final.

He also took the time to pass on some helpful tips to our young aspiring footballers, as well as signing autographs.

If you would like the chance to meet your favourite Millwall players and also join in some fun sporting activities at either the Scheme's soccer schools, girls’ only football camps or the exciting multi-sports camps, email Paul Wycherley on paul@millwallcommunity.co.uk or call 020 7740 0503.

The Scheme's next school holiday activity will be during the October half term between October 26 and October 30.
