MILLWALL boss Kenny Jackett insists his players had no intention of walking off the pitch after several pitch invasions marred their Carling Cup defeat at Upton Park.
At the post-match press conference, the Lions chief explained he felt the police and West Ham stewards had things under control enough for the game to continue.
He said: “The team gathered together and that’s the right thing to do - just come over to the side and assess the situation.
“They all walked over towards me at the dugout, without quite coming off the pitch, to just see how things go.
“It was only for a minute or two really. The stewards got them off and we carried on with the game.
“There were no Millwall fans on the pitch, they stayed where they were supposed to.”
