NEW Charlton signing Frazer Richardson is due to play his first match for the club on Wednesday as the Addicks take on Bray Wanderers in a friendly in Ireland.

The former Leeds United skipper arrived in SE7 last Thursday on a free transfer to become Phil Parkinson’s second signing of the summer after Spaniard Miguel Angel Llera.

A NEW three-year sponsorship agreement with Kent Reliance Building Society was agreed by Charlton last midweek.

The Addicks have agreed a six-figure deal that will see KRBS.com adorn the front of Charlton’s new kit, which has also been revealed in full for the first time.

The kit will go on sale towards the end of the month, while the sponsorship deal is one of the biggest in League One and includes a series of bonuses based on the club’s success.

A QUESTION-and-answer session featuring Charlton chairmen Richard Murray and Derek Chappell and more than 300 fans was postponed last week after the duo received legal advice.

“I can’t stress enough that the decision to postpone the event is one that has been taken with huge reluctance and regret,” said Murray.

“Fans will know that over many years I have never shied away from talking to fans and answering their questions and Derek shares that approach.

“But the current situation means that we would have been unable to answer or contribute to many of the likely main points of discussion, which would have been wholly unsatisfactory.

“I hope fans take this as a positive thing, and of course we will rearrange the event the moment we are able to speak more freely.”

THE honours were shared in the Battle of Bexley last midweek as Charlton and Welling United drew 1-1 in the Addicks’ first pre-season match of 2009/10.

Scott Wagstaff opened the scoring for Charlton as manager Phil Parkinson fielded two different teams in each half of the match at Park View Road.

Deon Burton and Chris Dickson (2) were on target against Wexford Youths in the first match of a two-game Irish tour last night.
