A TEAM of 10 Saxon Crown masters swimmers had a record breaking meet at the annual Kent county masters championships this weekend.
The Lewisham club continued their successful season by winning 16 gold medals and 15 silvers, breaking four county records in the process.
Rebecca Stewart had a great meet and improved her own county record in the 40 to 44 age group 50m backstroke with a time of 34.43s. She also broke two new county records in the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle. The other record breaker was Jenny Browne, who delivered an expected gold medal and record breaking swim in the 25 to 29 age group 100m backstroke in a time of 1m13.84s.
Jenny Frost, who has swum with Saxon Crown for nearly 20 years, took two golds in the very competitive women’s 25 to 29 age group with a great swim in the 100m breaststroke in 1m28.06s.
The team’s record breaking performance, and 12 personal bests, meant the Lewisham club finished in fourth place overall.
