ERITH & District Swimming Club travelled to the Bexley’s German twin town of Neheim Hüsten to take part in the 38th international competition hosted by SV Neptun SC.
The competition took place in a 50m outdoor pool set in the forest and with Erith the only club representatives from England, the team flew the flag with pride.
There were teams representing Holland, Belgium, Romania and Nigeria in addition to several teams from Germany.
After two days of competition, Erith finished with 17 medals while 41 others achieved a top six placing.
There were numerous excellent performances with many swimmers producing personal best times.
Ashton Middleton led the way with a gold medal in the 400m freestyle, followed by Emily White, Conor Middleton and Anthony Noonan, who all collected both a silver and bronze.
Other medal winners included Caitlin Colman, Alix Blis, Olivia Fryett, Rebecca Gravell, Chloe Hobbs and Lily Osborne.
There was a silver and bronze apiece for both the junior boys’ and girls’ relay squads.
The boys’ squad included Stuart Cunningham, Anthony Noonan, George Leigh, Daniel Bassett, Jack Capstick and Toluwa Ajanaku.
Lauren Frape, Ashton Middleton, Jade Hughes, Lily Gardner, Holly Fryett and Alix Bliss made up the girls’ squad.
