LOUI Fazakerley’s proposed switch from Welling to Bromley has fallen through.

The striker was reported elsewhere last week to have joined the Lillywhites, but Andy Ford confirmed to News Shopper the deal had not been completed and the Wings boss is still hopeful Fazakerley will be at Park View Road next season.

He said: “I thought he had joined Bromley but he hasn’t.

“I spoke to Loui recently and he is still out there. I’m still talking to him because I would like to keep him.

“I am going on holiday on June 15, so I will need to know where I stand by then.”

Ford added he is hopeful of signing a left back next week and added the Wings are one of a number of sides trying to sign a highly sought after striker.

However, the manager refused to speculate when asked if the player in question is Danny Hockton.

He said: “It would be wrong to comment on names at this stage.

“There are eight teams trying to get this player.

“Realistically it is going to come down to three sides and we are one of them.”

The manager added three other strikers and one central midfielder had been invited to join in pre-season training at the club.

“Our squad won’t be fully complete until pre-season because I have to leave a couple of places for people to come in and impress,” Ford added.

“There is no point in me using all of our budget now when I already know that is the case.”
