LEWISHAM Islamic Centre defeated Crofton Park by the odd goal in five in the London & Kent Junior Cup final at Thamesmead Town FC.

Shaamel Azzam scored two cracking first half goals in the 20th and 35th minutes to give LIC a 2-0 interval advantage.

However, Crofton Park fought back strongly after the break and set up extra-time when Atilla Yassar and Serkan Mehmet drew them level.

Yusuf Buckland crossed to Ammar Samouie on 100 minutes and he headed home to restore the advantage for Lewisham.

Crofton Park hit the crossbar late on, but Lewisham Islamic Centre survived the scare to claim their first trophy in the club’s debut season.
