PHIL Parkinson has told News Shopper Charlton have so far received no approaches for any of their senior players ahead of tomorrow’s loan deadline.

High earners like Zheng Zhi, Svetoslav Todorov, Darren Ambrose and Nicky Weaver have all been suggested as likely candidates to move on as the Addicks look to reduce their costs, but all look set to stay in SE7 as things stand.

Parkinson said: “We haven’t had any phone calls as of yet.

“Hopefully there will not be any either because we want to keep all of the available players we have until the end of the season.

“There won’t be anyone coming in on loan. There is no money available and we are going to go with what we’ve got.”

Assistant boss Mark Kinsella said on Saturday Charlton fans should enjoy Zheng Zhi’s talents while they still can, with the Chinese star’s contract set to end in the summer.

However, although Parkinson accepts it is likely ZZ will depart, he didn’t completely rule out the possibility the player may stay.

The manager said: “Realistically he will move on. It’s a difficult one because of the finances at the club, but hopefully we will offer him a contract.

“When a player’s contract ends, it is only natural they will want to explore all of their options.

“ZZ is a player we would love to keep but we have to be realistic in this economic climate.”

The Addicks chief also scoffed at a national newspaper story this morning linking him with a summer move for Aldershot keeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz.

Parkinson said: “He isn’t even on our radar. We do have a number of players we are monitoring but he definitely isn’t one of them.

“Nicky Weaver and Darren Randolph will both be out of contract in the summer, so that will leave us with one keeper. A decision will have to be made on that.”
