WELLING boxer Matt Marsh is preparing for his first British title defence against vengeful rival Rocky Dean next month.

The two classy super bantamweights have met twice before, previously locking horns for the vacant southern area titles at super bantamweight and featherweight.

Marsh came out on top each time, but will this be a third time lucky for the bitter Rocky?

In tradition with the first two fights, this encounter promises to be all action right from the opening bell - the most appropriate way to complete the finale of the trilogy.

The fight takes place on November 21 at the historic home of boxing, York Hall in Bethnal Green.

This showdown was due to take place two months earlier, but was delayed due to the champion falling victim to a flu virus.

After beating an experienced ex-European champion in Easham Pickering to attain the British title, Marsh is feeling confident.

“I’m stronger and fitter and I can’t wait to get in there and just do the job,” he said.

Supported by family and friends throughout his career, Marsh is looking to progress to the next stage, which is to become a European and World champion, something which requires financial support.

He explained: “Since winning the British title, I have had lots of interest from sponsors but nothing has ever materialised.

“I’m now looking for sponsors to support me in the build up to my first title defence”
