Hudson faces anxious wait

MARK Hudson is facing a race against the clock ahead of Saturday's season-opener against Swansea City after the central defender picked up an ankle knock against Athletic Bilbao.

Pardew only has one other specialist centre-half in Jonathan Fortune, with Jose Semedo set to deputise for the suspended Yassin Moutaouakil at right-back.

"Mark has hurt his ankle so we'll be sweating on him a bit," said the manager.

"But believe me, I'll give him until 1pm on Saturday before I make a decision - that's how important he is to us."

Meanwhile, Nicky Weaver (knee strain), Matt Holland (ankle), Chris Dickson (thigh muscle tear), and Svetoslav Todorov (knee inflammation) were all expected to resume training this week.

ADULT prices start from £20 for Charlton's first home league game of the season, against Swansea City on Saturday (3pm).

Over-60s and under-21 tickets are £20, while under-18s cost £10.

The same prices apply for the Valley game against Reading on August 23, which is being screened live on Sky at 12.45pm, while seats are £10 for adults and £5 for over-60s and under-21s for the Carling Cup match against Yeovil next Tuesday (7.45pm).

Tickets for all fixtures are available in person from the Valley commercial centre and Bexleyheath retail outlet, at cafc.co.uk, via post, or by calling 0871 226 1905.

SUPPORTERS can now purchase Charlton's new red home kit online at cafc.co.uk as well as from the Valley Superstore and retail outlet in Bexleyheath.

Adult shirts are £39.99, while junior shirts are priced £29.99.

The away kit will also go on sale before the end of August and a series of kit launches, featuring player appearances, began when Alan Pardew, Matt Holland and Grant Basey visited the Charlton branch of JD Sports on Tuesday.

THE deadline for buying a Charlton season ticket and qualifying for the offer of the same seat in 2009/10 free of charge should the Addicks gain promotion passed on Monday night, but fans can still see great value football at The Valley this season.

Adult places for all 23 Championship matches are available from £290, which is just £12.60 per game, while all under-21s are £125 and under-18s are £99 (£5.43 per game and £4.30 per game respectively).

For more information, visit cafc.co.uk or call 0871 226 1905.

SUPPORTERS can examine the inner-sanctums of The Valley when the latest batch of stadium tours kick off next month.

From the boardroom to the dressing rooms and the famous tunnel, fans will have access all areas to the home of their heroes on August 4, August 8, August 26 and August 29 between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

Priced at £15 for adults and £10 for under-14s, each tour lasts around an hour and includes lunch.

CENTRE-back Madjid Bougherra became the fourth senior Charlton player to be sold this summer when he joined Glasgow Rangers for £2.5m last Thursday night, but plc chairman Derek Chappell has insisted the club's transfer business will not be a "one-way street".

He said: "We have to remember that we had a big squad last season.

"We are getting ourselves financially straight, but the transfer window is far from closed and there is still a month to go. We have interests in other players, too."

FROM Sunday night, Charlton fans can tune into a weekly hour-long radio show dedicated to the Addicks.

Beginning with a 20th anniversary edition of Charlton Chat, a show which used to be broadcast on the old Radio Thamesmead cable service, the day after the match against Swansea City, TIME FM will launch the phone-in and magazine show on 106.8 every Sunday evening.

CHARLTON women's team boss Paul Mortimer signed his sixth player in the space of a fortnight as he added defender Vicky Moore, midfielder Toni Alden and goalkeeper Megen Lynch to the club's ranks last week.
