DARTFORD'S top transfer target has snubbed the Ryman Division One leaders, opting instead to join a Blue Square South club.
Assistant manager Paul Sawyer told News Shopper on Wednesday the Darts were on the verge of strengthening their team by drafting in a fresh face before tomorrow's game with Bury Town.
However, the potential transfer has fallen through after the unidentified player chose to ply his trade higher up the football pyramid.
Dartford manager Tony Burnam confirmed this afternoon: "It is very unlikely the player we were after will come to the club.
"It looks like our target has chosen a higher league standard."
