LUKE Varney is due to continue his comeback from injury tonight as Charlton reserves take on Southampton.
Striker Varney featured in a behind-closed-doors practice game against Crystal Palace on September 4, his first match action since the start of pre-season in mid-July, and is scheduled to play for Mark Kinsella's second XI at Ebbsfleet United's Stonebridge Road.
Osei Sankofa has also returned to training following a thigh injury.
ALAN Pardew will be able to continue to select Madjid Bougherra early next year after the defender's country Algeria failed on Sunday to qualify for the African Nations Cup finals.
The centre-half played the entire match against Gambia in Banjul, but the Desert Foxes were beaten 2-1.
Andy Reid will be hoping to start for the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday against the Czech Republic in a European Championship qualifier after being an unused substitute in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Slovakia.

SUPPORTERS who may have witnessed an attack on Charlton supporters at Sydenham train station on September 1 are being urged to contact British Transport Police.
The Addicks fans were on board a train travelling to the match against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park when they were assaulted as the train pulled into the station at around 2.20pm.
PC Elliot Waite said: "This was an extremely violent and cowardly act and several people were injured.
"I also have no doubt people will be left traumatised by what they saw and what they heard."

One adult and one under-16 can gain entry for £25.50.

SIXTEEN-year-old Chris Solly earned praise from England under-17 coach Noel Blake after a recent four-team Nationwide Tournament.
The right-back featured twice for his country in a 1-1 draw against Turkey and a 3-0 victory against Italy, and Blake said: "I thought Chris had a very good test against Turkey's strong left winger.
"He stuck to his task and showed good character even though he had a real battle on his hands."
A SECOND-half goal by Richmond Kissi proved merely a consolation for Charlton's under-18s as the Addicks were beaten 4-1 by Aston Villa on Saturday.
It was a fourth game in a row without victory for the Addicks, who were facing a much older side.
Charlton don't have a game this weekend.
