Former Charlton midfielder Ahmed Kashi has signed a two-year deal with French club Troyes.

Kashi, 29, left Charlton following the expiry of his contract last month.

The Algerian’s departure was always likely after the Addicks failed to win promotion to the Championship.

Kashi has returned to France after leaving Metz to join Charlton in 2015.

A serious achilles injury plagued his first two seasons in SE7 before making 37 appearances last term.

He starred in midfield as Charlton were beaten by Shrewsbury in the League One play-off semi-finals.

Kashi’s departure has left Joe Aribo and Jake Forster-Caskey as the club’s only senior midfielders.
