Yohan Cabaye is waiting for a contract offer from Marseille, according to reports.

The Crystal Palace midfielder is out of contract next month and has been in talks with the club about extending his three-year stay.

The Frenchman made 34 appearances for the Eagles to help them avoid relegation last season.

He is believed to be keen on a return to his homeland after previous spells with Paris Saint-Germain and Lille.

And despite reports in France linking Cabaye with a move to Marseille, the Evening Standard says Palace are confident of keeping the 32-year-old at Selhurst Park.

He is one of Palace’s top earners and it is likely he will need to take a cut to his £100,000-a-week wage to sign a new deal.
