Shaun Williams made his Republic of Ireland senior debut at the age of 31 yesterday.
The Millwall midfielder, who represented his country at Under-21 and Under-23 level, played against Celtic in Scott Brown’s testimonial.
He was replaced after 61 minutes as the Republic of Ireland drew 2-2 at Celtic Park.
Williams featured 40 times for the Lions in their impressive Championship campaign last season.
And he was called up to Martin O’Neill’s Republic of Ireland squad earlier this month.
Williams will hope to play a part in the Irish’s upcoming friendlies against France and USA.
