Charlton caretaker manager Lee Bowyer is maintaining his focus on the club’s promotion push.

There would be few complaints from Charlton fans if Bowyer was offered the job on a full-time basis.

He has won five of his eight games in charge to move the Addicks up to fifth in League One.

Bowyer said: “I’m not even thinking about that [becoming Charlton manager]. I’m just thinking about getting the side into the play-offs and getting promotion. That’s all I want to do.

“I’m enjoying it, especially when you win. I knew I’d be able to do the job, it was just whether I wanted to do it, and now I’ve been thrown into it, I’m enjoying every second of it.

“At the end of the day, I have to get promotion and then whatever happens, happens. It’s out of my hands.

“All I’m concentrating on is now, I’ll start thinking about Saturday and once that’s done I’ll start thinking about the other Saturday.

“I’m not thinking too far in front because I know what we have to do is win games. I’m not thinking about the future at all.”
